His Own Intel Chief Couldn't Back Up the Reason for the War

Honey, when I make the pie here, I make the pie first and then I tell you what kind it is. That’s how it’s supposed to work.

What you do not do — and I want to be real clear on this — is tell everybody you made a pie, hand out slices, and then have somebody come in and say “she never actually made a pie” while you’re still serving it.

Yesterday in a Senate hearing, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard testified that Iran could only “begin to develop” a missile capable of reaching the United States — and not before 2035. Before 2035. That’s nine years from now. That’s a third-grader graduating from high school.

Now, you may recall that this war — the one we are currently in, the one with the bombing footage on Truth Social, the one where the embassy in Baghdad got hit by drones, the one costing lives and dollars by the hour — was sold to the American people as a response to an imminent threat.

Imminent. Not “might exist in a decade.” Imminent.

Gabbard also declined, when asked directly, to say whether she had informed the President that there was no imminent threat before the bombs started dropping.

She. Declined. To say.

That is what we in the service industry call a non-answer, and I have been watching people give non-answers my whole career. You learn to hear exactly what’s in them.

We are fighting a war whose justification just got up and walked out of a Senate hearing without confirming it ever existed. And the man who ordered the war is posting videos on Truth Social.

I need you to understand: I am not a political person. I just watch people. And what I am watching right now is a mess that nobody seems to know how to clean up.

Leave room for dessert. You’re gonna want something sweet after all this.
